We started seeing a big increase in pattern series being created by some of our users. Some of those series were pretty big, and we found out we didn't think about this in the past, as it has become an issue only now. We talked about this with our moderators, and decided we have to add some guidelines to prevent this from happening in the future. The conclusion is we will still be allowing patterns series to be posted, but users will now be able to only send a couple of such patterns, and all of them will have to be distinct, unique and valuable enough to be accepted.
We've added this section to our review guidelines:
Pattern series (patterns derived from user's existing patterns) are allowed, but only a few of such patterns can be approved. They also have to be distinct enough and have as many changes as possible, otherwise such patterns will have to be declined for being extremely similar.
And this part to patterns we generally decline:
- extremely similar patterns which are very easy to derive from the originals
Thanks to everyone for all your feedback that led us to start these discussions! We really hope you'll like this change, and that it will make browsing patterns a little easier for you 🙂.
And as always, have a great day and take care! 🙂
